Legal Aid

Our firm holds a Legal Aid Franchise and provides legal aid services for family matters involving domestic violence.

We offer legal counsel and representation to clients at high risk of domestic violence or abuse who require protective court orders. Our assistance includes preparing and applying for urgent Family Law Injunctions/Orders, such as Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders.

Additionally, we represent clients in obtaining Orders pertaining to Children Law cases, including Prohibited Steps Orders, Specific Issue Orders, and Child Arrangements Orders for spending time with and living with the children (previously known as contact and residence orders).

Divorce

The thought of separation or divorce can be very emotionally worrying and daunting.

Divorce is the legal dissolution of a relationship between husband and wife. Divorcing may see your legal status change and impact on your personal affairs – for example: tax, benefits entitlement, will and testamentary provision.

In April 2022, The Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 came into force. This now allows for a statement of irretrievable breakdown, joint applications and for one party to start the divorce process without having to assign blame. The change has also stopped parties from being able to contest the divorce.

We offer a very informal and personalised service and endeavour to simplify the legal process for Clients and support you throughout and obtain a fair outcome for you. If you are thinking about a divorce or separation, please contact us for a free initial consultation.

We offer our divorce services on a fixed fee basis.

Children Law/Child Arrangement

Our dedicated team of child law specialists is available to guide you through the process, assist parents in resolving disputes, and establish arrangements swiftly and harmoniously. We utilize our expertise to help clients find a resolution outside of court, whether through direct communication, solicitor negotiations, or engaging in mediation or collaborative law. If an out-of-court agreement is unattainable, we provide support through the court proceedings, always prioritizing the child’s best interests. Our team has extensive experience working with parents and grandparents, dealing with issues that emerge during or after divorce or separation.

Separation

You may not wish to get divorced from your spouse for many reasons (e.g., personal, religious etc) and may only wish to remain separated.

If you feel that divorce is not an option for you at this time, due to your religious beliefs or other reasons, we can assist you in obtaining a Decree of Judicial Separation.

In addition, we can advise on Separation Agreements. A Separation Agreement can be formal or informal. We will discuss with you how you would like your children, property and investments to be dealt with during the period of separation. This document can be incorporated into a court order if the parties so wish and if they later decide to divorce.
